Today I am grateful for:

Nice moderate temperatures today.

That I didn't get upset over the farrier kind of messing up our day. She is a good person, and obviously there is some stuff going on for her at home, so I can try to be patient.

We made the appointment close to two weeks ago, and she texts a few hours before our appointment, asking if she could come much later. I'm fine with that. Then she texts again, saying she would be able to come at a different time, which would work better for her. Okay. I was alright with that too.

So she shows up, and then I can see how upset she is; she left her farrier tools at home, even though she parked by the garage to try to remember them. I was just like "it's okay, we'll try again".

She was going to come back today, then texted to say that she got beat up a bit by a horse, and would rather try again in a few days.

Well, there isn't much I can do, is there. Hopefully Monday works out, because everyone at home is a bit overdue for a trim now.

While I was in limbo, not sure if we were doing feet or not today, I chose to do some laundry and picked more raspberries to try to do something productive with my day.

My husband is back from work, for his actual "vacation" time, which is more like a not for sure known amount of time in between jobs, but is likely for quite a stretch, as he has a lot of banked time (paid time at home at 60% pay, in lieu of overtime hours).

He brought home all his stuff from living in an apartment, so it is food and blankets and clothes and dishes and cooking utensils and small appliances. Some of the food got put away, but a lot of it has just been set down on the floor "for later". We will deal with that soon.

It is our 20th anniversary soon, and he brought home a really nice bouquet, which is very thoughtful. We have no idea what we're doing for it yet, likely nothing that big, and maybe we will do a couple of things over the course of a week or so to celebrate, but it will be something.

It was a nice enough evening that I wanted to go for a walk at the park down the road together, and take Roxy. We just don't get there enough, with all the work needed at home.

It was a nice walk, and with the rain this year there are all kinds of big mushrooms popping up. We sat beside a nice pond for a while, and just listened to the wind and the ducks.

We came home, and we let everyone out into their pastures for a while.

I did know that Shakespeare had a profound influence on the English language in his creation of interesting phrases that are now firmly entrenched in culture:

but I did not realize that he contributed around 1700 words. Some were likely in use, but this was the first known use in print, and others were his creations that patched together bits of other words, turned nouns into verbs, added modifiers, etc.

Lurve me some mighty Shakespeare.

It is delightful that you and spouse are anticipating a milestone wedding anniversary celebration! Spouse is indeed thoughtful to bring you a bouquet.
