Today I am grateful for:

Another hot one!

Too hot for my Sweetie to work on the siding.

He really isn't self-directed these days. I got up and he was sitting at the computer, as he had been for four hours already, thinking "yay, a day off!".

Never mind that the door to the shower downstairs STILL is not installed.

I suggested that we go pick zucchini, which we did. We got MANY yellow ones, and lots of green as well.

Then I said he could at least clean up the tools and associated mess from tiling the downstairs bathroom, as everything from that project has simply sat scattered all over the floor in the basement. Funny it never occurred to him that you might need to um...PUT AWAY TOOLS AND MESS once he was finished. It's been there for weeks now.

Then I said maybe he could put away some of his clothes and other things that he brought home from his apartment that he had for work, and just dumped in the unfinished mud room area, and has sat there for two weeks now.

Then I got him to help me move some boxes of pottery and knick knacks that have no where to be displayed right now, from the unfinished mud room to the area we have designated for storage in the basement.

This past year, the unfinished mud room has become a dumping zone for EVERYTHING, which is very bad.

In order for it to become the FINISHED mud room, everything needs to get out of there, I have to finish painting it (it is primed), and we have to put cupboards in there. Then it will be where the animal things are kept. The fly spray and such for the horses, the leg wraps, the other veterinary things, the garden things like left over seeds. That kind of thing.

So that I can FIND them!

I want to work on the mud room when we finish the siding. It will need to be before the snow falls to bring home cupboards.

So, anyhow. I did SOMETHING that forwards the home improvement.

Then we went to the barn, and took the trailer again.

So hot today! I did light work again; too hot to work on the canter and such.

We talked with L, R's teen age daughter for a while. She's feeling a bit more comfortable chatting with us; she is a bit on the quiet side until you get to know her.

I loaded River again several times, and he stayed relaxed throughout. I am very grateful for this, as loading can be very stressful and scary if the horse is upset.

Then we worked on our pattern a bit, and he is STILL not making the nice, small circle I need to the right. I've worked on it a lot, and he does GREAT in the other direction. I did get some improvement after a while, but who knows if he'll remember for next time.

He did well on the back from behind and the other work.

He put in good effort today.

We came home and let everyone out for a while, and I mowed for about an hour or so. It was reasonably pleasant, as it had cooled off and the mosquitoes weren't bad.

My Sweetie made supper, and we watched more "Schitt's Creek".

I learned that there are now likely tardigrades on the moon.
