Sunny and warm today, beautiful weather.
Some of our trees have changed color already, and the one beside the house has already dropped most of it's leaves. It's very pretty.
I had the house to myself since my Sweetie is away for his MS bike ride, so I slept in a bit.
I vacuumed.
I worked on the mulching project for a while, digging the small trench to lay down the landscaping ties, and putting down cardboard under those areas. Then I tried hammering in stakes to hold them, which seems to be working.
Roxy is so cute. When I work outside, she often finds a place to sit that allows her to keep an eye on me, and on our driveway. Sometimes she lies down, but today she was sitting, and just looking very wistfully into the distance.
While I was doing that I let everyone out for a while.
I talked with my Sweetie for a while about his day. It was excellent weather, which is nice because often it is raining during this race. He said though, that by having it on the long weekend, the attendance for bikers (who are the ones actually raising the money) was very low, less than half of what they usually have.
He had a good ride, and felt like he was fit enough for it, so that's good.
I came in and had a bath, and then watched the fairly recent "Dungeons and Dragons" movie. It's a lot of fun, and I know nothing about D&D (they explain it all fairly well), but I'm sure that if you did know more about it the movie would be even better.
Quite some time ago I learned that albino Redwood trees exist. I learned today that they cannot make energy from sunlight because they lack chlorophyll (white needles).
This is because Redwoods can reproduce both by seeds, and by new trees forming from their roots (just like poplar trees). The albino trees only survive if they formed from the roots, because they remain connected to the parent tree, from which they draw sugar.
