Sep. 4th, 2023 01:34 amToday I am grateful for:
A cool day that felt very "autumn", which felt good, but also makes me feel a sense of urgency about outdoor projects like the siding and the mulching.
My Sweetie did the second half of the bike ride for MS today, and he said it went well even though it rained.
He drove back today, and was home about the time I came back from the barn.
I went to see River, and his breathing was good.
He had good energy and I was able to do a lot of faster work (relatively speaking).
We did have the same issue with making a right circle in our pattern. Sigh.
He also still seemed stiff in our ridden work in one direction (though at least not in both directions). Oddly, the direction he was stiff while ridden was to the LEFT, while when we are working in the arena on our pattern, he's stiff to the RIGHT, which really makes me feel like this is more like his issues with resistance than any physical tightness.
I worked with him on the ground, and sure enough, he could make a nice circle just fine in either direction.
Hmmm.
I chatted with R, her daughter L, and the Sunday rider (who I haven't seen in a while; her job has been making her work weekends this past month).
I did try to work in lots of breaks and rewards for River, and ended with some easy draws at Liberty and hopefully it helps him remember that he doesn't have to be contrary as a point of honor.
I came home, and my Sweetie pulled in pretty much right behind me.
We watched more "Schitt's Creek".
I learned that George Foreman won an Olympic gold medal after boxing for only 1.5 years, and only 20 amateur fights.
