Today I am grateful for:

My Sweetie made a trip to get more materials.

Then he resumed working on the siding. On any given day, he doesn't put in huge days, but he seems to at least by doing SOME work every day most days. There has been good progress.

I went to see River.

I've been working on the head piece that I want him to wear for our freestyle pattern when we video it. I've been figuring out how to make it work the last couple of weeks.

It has become more or less a reality, with some tweaks. It's a plume of feathers like a circus horse, with a sequin-covered brow band. I had to make the whole thing myself. I will post pictures at some point, or you'll see it when I post a link to the freestyle video, if/when it is done.

Today was a fitting, and it was pretty good. I wanted to work him with it on, to see how the feather thing sat (if it would stay upright or tip over) and to get him used to it.

He tolerated it pretty well, and after a bit of fiddling the feather part stayed upright.

I ran through some of the freestyle pattern together (I don't do that often, it's better to only work on the elements of the pattern separately so he doesn't get sour or anticipate), and he did well, so I stopped there.

Then I rode for a while in the outdoor arena, and tried to soften his face up a bit and worked on the spirals and circles. He did okay, a little better, but it took a while to get him looser in the left lead.

I came home, chatted with my Sweetie about the day's progress on the house.

In and around everything else I washed some horse blankets in a big trough. I don't know if they got REALLY clean, but they must be CLEANER. I have a ton of blankets that need washing, I don't know if I will get to all of them, but I'll try.

I know some people wash them in their machines, but that just seems like a terrible idea. I also don't know where else to take them. I don't know of any laundromats with giant machines.

We watched more "Schitt's Creek", we'll likely finish it tomorrow. It's already getting kind of sad, you can feel that it's wrapping up the story lines.

At least it was PROPERLY finished, as some series just stop, with no resolutions at all, like when they get cancelled.

I learned about the "Einstein Problem". No, not Albert Einstein. Einstein meaning "one stone".

So, the "problem" is can a single shape be used like a tile, to cover any amount of space, without creating a repeating pattern? More than that, can such a tile make it so that it CANNOT FORM A REPEATING PATTERN, no matter how big the plane being tiled?

Quite a feat, because that is the same problem as random number generation (very difficult to generate truly random numbers) in a way.

Well, someone did come up with such a shape:
