Sep. 20th, 2023 01:16 amToday I am grateful for:
Sunshine, and a good day for my Sweetie to get back to working on the siding.
I did the dishes, changed the sheets, folded some laundry, and put the other sheets in the wash before I went to see River.
River was in a good mood. I do think there is not much grass left in their pasture. River is starting to pull to get to grass outside the pasture when I go get him.
I've been letting him graze a bit, there are places where there is longer grass in the yard, and lately he's been a little more intense about it.
Also, he's getting a little distracted, which is something he tends to do when he's a little hungry.
We're at that time of year when the grass slows down growing, and yet R might be reluctant to feed hay so soon. Hmmm.
We worked on our freestyle pattern, and then ridden work (spirals).
There were other people around, and I chatted with them.
I came home and looked at today's progress (includes putting the front set of wooden stairs back up, with some improvements).
We watched more "Wednesday", and it might feel derivative, but it's still good entertainment.
I learned that in spite of appearances, hippos have very little subcutaneous fat; they simply have very thick (2 inches/6 cm) skin.
Also, they are closely related to cetaceans (whales and porpoises).
