Sep. 22nd, 2023 01:04 amToday I am grateful for:
A sunny and pleasant day. Finally the mosquitoes and flies are mostly dead. I love this time of year for that reason.
My Sweetie got a bit more done. Using the new nailer he put vinyl trim around some windows. It looks good.
I worked on the mulching again. Firstly I got my husband to cut some of the small concrete bricks to make triangles. Last year when we put in the brick walkway, he made fancy corners where the path made turns, but the fancy corners will be impossible for me to mulch, so I've made them into a straight edge that still looks very decorative, and will be mulchable.
I texted a friend of ours whose Dad has a pile of boards we can buy for the outside edge of the mulch; this is my husband's idea though I would personally keep using the same kind of ties. It's truly just a "cheap" thing. My husband was supposed to be responsible for making arrangements for these boards, and every time I asked him if he talked to our friend he would say something vague and forget about it again.
I texted our friend, and he right away said he would bring them next week, hopefully he does.
I put in a couple more of the edging rails, laid down more cardboard (we need to get a bit more again) and dumped more mulch on it.
It's really feeling like the never ending project, but I really want to get most of it done before winter so I'm not just working on it again next summer.
After we wrapped up project work, I enlisted my husband for a quick "pick up and put it away" of some of the debris that has piled up around the steps. Just stuff that never made it to either the recycling or the garden shed.
A big part of Fall is walking around and putting everything away so that you don't trip over it in the snow, ruin it, or make it hard to shovel walkways.
Then we came in and watched the last two episodes of Season One of "Wednesday". It was good. I enjoyed it.
I learned that French was the official language of England for about three hundred years, after the Norman conquest.

We did a little pasture walk.
