Jul. 13th, 2019 01:15 amSunshine! I hope it helps everyone who needs to make hay.
This might be the first time it's really felt like summer. The last couple of weeks were pretty cold and rainy, but today was hot and sunny.
My sweetie went to town to pick up MORE stuff for the house, so we can get the plumbing set up for temporary residence. The electrician was here early this morning and hooked up power to the house, so there are lights now. Probably in a week or so we'll be able to live in it on blocks and begin tearing down the trailer and building the basement.
Our big cat Fatty is tapering off of his medication, and we'll be watching to see how he does without it. Though I don't want to be TOO optimistic, the vet and I talked about his condition, and she feels that he might have had a lymph gland inflammation of some kind, rather than the lymphoma (cancer) because of how he responded to the drugs. So, we'll have to see how he is without the drugs. I'm so very grateful that he's doing well. He's our big, fat, love bug.
I didn't go to town, I decided to stay home to mow the lawn. It's been raining so much that we haven't been able to cut it, and it was SO LONG! I'm glad I got that done.
Finally getting into the garden to pull weeds. Again, with all the rain, it's been hard to pull weeds, and now you can't see the vegetable plants. We got quite a lot done today, and everything is really growing well.
The ponies don't run away any more when I try to catch them. They now associate being caught with going to graze. It makes it so much nicer that they aren't afraid of being caught. It's so much easier to handle their feet now, too. They have names now (I gave them new ones): Dandy and Ursula. Ursula makes me laugh because it's kind of a serious name for a pony, but she's a stocky brown pony and the name "little she-bear" just suits her.
Having a shower, and it feels so good after being just sweaty and gross all day.
