Today I am grateful for:

Beautiful Fall weather.

My Sweetie continued working on the siding.

I went to see River. He and his buddies were back in the pasture with no grass in it. I don't know why. So, he was hungry and distracted. This sucks.

Not a fantastic day for us. He was well-behaved in general, but I wanted to work on our freestyle pattern in the outdoor arena. I choreographed it to be in the indoor arena, but R was saying that if I want to enter this pattern for the online show, the ILHA requires that it be in a larger outdoor space.

Well, River tried, but without the walls of the arena to help give guidance, he was all over the place.

I really don't think we'll be able to get it together in time.

Sigh.

His fly mask was not on him when I caught him, so after our work I looked ALL OVER his current pasture, and didn't see it, so it occurred to me that he was in the OTHER pasture yesterday or something. He likely lost it in there. So, I went and walked around THAT pasture, and still didn't find it.

I spent probably close to an hour looking for it. It's a brand new mask that I got for when his regular one was too destroyed to use. About two weeks ago I started using this new one.

Now he has no mask, and his eye was a little weepy. There are fewer flies right now, but he seems sensitive to them.

So all of that was pretty frustrating.

I came home and we watched more "Peripheral", and part way through our friend dropped off the boards from his Dad's farm just down the road. The ones I need for the mulching project.

All told, just a weird, annoying day where nothing was "bad", but not much felt like it was going right for me either.

I learned that 70% of employed Saudis work for the government, and work for less than an hour a day.

The weird, annoying day segued into a weird, annoying evening. Only chocolate seemed to alleviate the annoyance. I maintained graciousness, but... phew. A task and a half it was.

Chocolate helps a lot. I allow myself a small chocolate allotment, generally of very dark chocolate for low sugar and best flavor. Many times I felt that it was the highlight of the day.

I ate KitKats - the sugar hit and subsequent crash were perfect accompaniment to a day in which nothing quite worked out, and everything said was misconstrued (negatively).

Also, I know what you mean about weird, annoying days. The ones were just EVERYTHING, even things that should be routine, are off. I have no idea how those days happen.

Today is another one - wholly weird and annoying, even if it's small things that are being thwarted.

Sorry to hear that, maybe tomorrow will feel like it makes more sense, or there is less resistance to your efforts to accomplish something.

It all turned out to be somewhat better by nightfall. I've got chocolate as well.
