Today I am grateful for:

Getting some more progress on the mulching. I needed my husband's help to cut some of the garden ties to make pieces to fit into the corners of the brick walkway, and we did some of that today. One corner is done, the other needs a bit more work to fit right, but almost there.

Too much wind for him to work on the siding.

My Sweetie coming with me to see River today.

Today was supposed to be our day to try and get a good video of the freestyle we've been working on, but the wind was CRAZY, and there's no way we could have worked outside.

R said we could move our lesson to Monday, to try and get a better day. That is really going to make next week weird, because I will still do next week's lesson on Wednesday.

I had prepared for today to be the day, washed my riding pants last night and so on, so what I did do was to put the glitter hair extensions in River's mane and tail, and wear the shirt that I was planning to record in, to make sure it was all going to work.

Kind of a run through of the "costume" elements.

It all went okay.

River was really edgy today though. From the moment we brought him in to the barn, he was not standing still nicely in the cross ties and seemed worried.

We went to work in the indoor arena, and he actually did okay with most of our work, but he was just not relaxed. It showed up the most when we did some cantering, as he was more forward than usual, and didn't halt smoothly.

Probably I did well to get him to focus as much as I did, since he was all keyed up when I took him back out to the pasture too.

Well, it's been windy and cool, and horses are horses.

It was nice to have my husband's company. It was far too windy for him to be working up on a ladder today, so it was nice to have his help and someone to talk to, since everyone else stayed home today.

We came home and figured it was time to start watching "Breaking Bad". I watched it all not last winter, but the winter before, and my husband has only watched the first season, but liked what he saw.

I wasn't sure if I would find it a bit boring to watch it again, but we watched the first two episodes and I am enjoying it. I've forgotten just enough of the details to appreciate it, even if I know all of the bigger plot points. There is a LOT of nuance and character development in this show.

I learned that there are clay tablets from Sumerian times that are student's homework! Multiplications tables, and the best part is that they are signed and dated.
