gottawonderToday I am grateful for:
A good trip to the city with my Sweetie. I was once again cold and too windy for him to work on the siding.
We mostly went for recreation, though we also did reconnaissance on wood stoves at a different store. We learned a bit more, and found out that a different distributor carries the brand of stove that interested us at the first place, so we can at least see what a competitive price might be.
We did stop in at a thrift store that directly donates to a Women's addiction recovery center. I've been trying to get there for ages, but often we don't have time. It's a nice store; very clean.
We also went to an art supply store. Yay!
Then we had LOTS of time to go to the art gallery, and the exhibits were really interesting this time.
What was really nice, is that a person who works at the art gallery made a point of coming up to us to talk.
This relationship is perhaps becoming a friendship, and is the direct result of my efforts to be more friendly with people. I make a point of talking to people who work in shops, especially since I often shop in the same places, and I like to make personal connections when I can.
I really like this guy; he worked in the gift shop of the art gallery, and he was always wearing something interesting. I made a point of commenting, and it often led to conversations if it wasn't too busy.
Now he works in the sales area in the basement (they sell original works there, or you can rent them) and he also installs pieces, since some of them required very good mounting etc.
Today he saw us and came over and chatted, and we caught up on how his summer and our summer have been going. It was really nice.
Then my husband needed to stop in at Home Depot, and we went home.
We watched some more "Breaking Bad".
I learned that scallops have over 200 eyes that act like a telescope. They also are very good swimmers.
