Today I am grateful for:

More sunshine, even though it rained a bit last night. Another true summer day.

Getting a bit more fencing done, and a lot of running around that wasn't that productive, but it did result in seeing some friends for a while (my sweetie was hoping to get some pipe from them).

Finding a good metal gate for a good price on the local buy and sell, and it was interesting that the people we bought the gate from are living on an acreage that a few years ago, belonged to someone else we once knew, so we got to see what was happening at the property. It was actually getting pretty run down, the yard was a mess with tons of piles of old fencing and just crap everywhere. The plus side of that, is I think it is a good reminder to my sweetie about why I am such a hard-ass about not letting piles of stuff form, not driving on grass (it forms ruts, kills grass, and becomes a mud pit wherever you drive), finishing projects properly, and keeping up with mowing and pruning. I know he appreciates our yard, though sometimes he would like to get lazy and leave piles of lumber or crap lying around. This yard was the perfect example of how things can get out of hand in a short period of time (they've only owned it for a couple of years).

My sweetie got a good start on making the stairs for getting into the new house while it is on blocks, so that we can get the temporary residence permit, and so we don't have to climb up into it unsafely.

Just sitting and watching a movie together.
