Oct. 10th, 2023 12:32 amToday I am grateful for:
A beautiful sunny day.
Being able to get the video of our freestyle, and the neighbors beside the riding arena were not riding dirt bikes or flying drones.
For all the help and support I got through this process from my husband and R.
For River being patient.
We came home, and I didn't do much. I was coming down from doing the video, and processing that I finally did it.
It has really taken over my thoughts, this past week especially.
I kind of napped, but not really.
My Sweetie got a bit of work done on the siding.
Then we watched more "Breaking Bad".
I learned about this incredible tunnel that was built only for cyclists and pedestrians, in the hope of encouraging more people to not use cars. The 1.8-mile-long tunnel, called Fyllingsdalstunnelen, cuts through a mountain and therefore cuts the distance from point A to point B instead of a much harder ride over/around the mountain. Of course it is in Norway.

Date: 2023-10-10 09:20 pm (UTC)When I lived in the small city, years ago, I had a bike. I loved biking just for the sheer enjoyment of it.
Obviously winter wasn't good, or when buying something bulky, but for just getting around it was great, and almost didn't take longer than a car in town.
The limitation for me, was always whether or not there was a safe lane.

Date: 2023-10-11 06:17 am (UTC)I used to have a little folding bike (that I named The Tarantula) that I rode when I wanted to visit Lois at her residence 10 minutes away. It was so small that I rode it on the sidewalk as long as there were no pedestrians.
(Someone pinched The Tarantula from the back seat of the car one day - and it wasn't even new.)
