Oct. 10th, 2023 11:15 pmToday I am grateful for:
Sunny and warm. Beautiful.
That we were able to go to town today and not be in a raging hurry.
We needed to pick up Jones food at the vet, but made it with plenty of time before it closed.
We picked up the nails my husband needed to finish the siding.
I met with a seller from Marketplace, who was selling a set of the "Game of Thrones" books that were sort of a special set, nicely bound. It was a good price. I have indeed read them all before, but I will likely read them again. These books are aesthetically pleasing, and the pages are like bible paper.
Then we got groceries, and again had LOTS of time.
We wanted to see a movie in the theater, so these things had to be done first, but it was all good.
We had a bite to eat before the show, and still had time to walk around for a while. It's nice sometimes just to walk around in one of the neighborhoods that have sidewalks and trees. It's kind of fun to look at everyone's yards, or take notes on what they did for siding or fencing or what have you.
Then we watched the movie; "The Creator". It was pretty good, and it was excellent in terms of how it looked on a big screen. I forget sometimes how seeing something in an actual theater can be pretty amazing in terms of how the sound is different with good stereo effects, and how immersive it can be.
Then we came home and put all the groceries away.
I learned that during the 1960's and 70's, Denmark decided that "something needed to be done" to control the birthrate among the Inuit of Greenland. So, they just put IUDs in pretty much every woman who came in for medical treatment or routine health examinations. Of course it has taken until recently for the issue to come to light and hold the government of Denmark accountable for their actions.
