Today I am grateful for:

Okay weather. Below freezing, but not windy.

My Sweetie went to town today with Roxy, because I wanted her to have another check on her leg to make sure nothing was growing back. The vet said it looked good.

He also ran other errands to make good use of the trip.

I went to see River, and he was a bit edgy today, maybe because of the cold weather, or thoughts of feeding time which always seems to fall at the same time I work with him.

No real agenda with our work today, but I did general Liberty work, tried to improve our turn on hindquarters and side pass (an eternal pursuit with those).

I rode for a while. He seemed peppy, as he often is in cooler weather.

I did interact with others at the barn, and that was nice.

I came home and it was already dark, nearly.

We made veggie burritos kinda, and those were good.

We watched more "Breaking Bad", though I half slept through them.

I learned that because of low gravity (which leads to demineralization of bones) people living in space are very likely to develop kidney stones.

This has long been considered a hurdle to space travel or colonization of, for example, Mars.

So, NASA has funded a project to develop a simple and effective way to break up the stones with ultrasound waves.

It is a much smaller and lighter piece of equipment that does not require an X-ray to locate the stones, nor does the patient require anesthetic.

Thus, it is feasible to use in space where weight is important.
