A pleasant Fall day, weather wise. Cool, but sunny.
My Sweetie put away some of his things from his trip to visit family. He brought back things his Aunt crocheted for us, and a few things from his parents as they are downsizing a bit again.
He came with me to the barn today.
The Sunday rider was there too, with her lovely, big, floppy dog. He's a big sweetheart.
There was lots of discussion of the ILHA show placings, some I agreed with and some I did not. The freestyle classes are not only really ambiguous as to what can be in your video (some people had two horses, one woman had her small daughter riding - without a helmet, and another woman filmed at night for drama, and so on). I would say this makes many of the videos like apples and oranges; really hard to compare against each other. On top of that, there is no feedback from the ILHA on your work, so you have very little idea of where you did well and where you could improve, nor do you even know going in what percentage of your score comes from your costume or your musical choice, and what percentage comes from technical skill.
ANYHOW.
I worked with River outside on the circle "away", and our normal work, and he did well. I rode him and worked on the "three circles", kind of a classic pattern for riders.
Then we went into the indoor arena, and I think River was annoyed because he thought he should be done working because we left the outdoor one. He was a LOT LESS interested in working when we went indoors.
It got a little frustrating for us both, because River was obviously DONE, but I can't exactly let him call the shots, so I had to push him a bit to try a little bit for me. It wasn't my goal to overdo anything, but it's tough when you can't leave things on a note of "not interested" by the horse.
Overall he did well, though.
We came home and my Sweetie had to find office clothes for tomorrow. He's going to be working in the office in the city for a while; it is for the same company but this is different from when he is at a construction site. This is headquarters, and for this, it's expected that he wear nice pants and a somewhat dressy shirt (in the field offices he can wear jeans and sweaters).
He still has lots of nice clothes that still fit from the last time he worked in the office a couple of years ago.
We watched a movie called "Buffaloed", which was pretty good. I enjoyed it.
Author Terry Pratchett, had the hard drive of his personal computer destroyed after his death, so that there could be no posthumous release of any of his unfinished work.
