Today I am grateful for:

Though it was cloudy and foggy, it was still only about 0 C, so not that cold.

My sleeping schedule shouldn't be too much changed with my husband's work schedule. Whew.

I moved a pile of dusty/moldy hay out of the barn. I have to do this a couple of times a year, sometimes it is just the buildup of hay that falls as I feed it out, and sometimes it is the yucky black spot that you get on one side of a round bale that formed when it sat in the field and got wet on the bottom before it got picked up.

I pretty much just use the barn as hay storage, and it is very valuable to do so, as it keeps the hay from getting wet/moldy or otherwise wasted. I use some round bales and some square bales, but whenever I use a round bale, I almost always have to peel off the black, moldy side and set it to one side to be removed at a later date.

Sometimes we take all the moldy stuff outside and burn it, but this time I took it all out to the bush on the other side of the fence so the horses leave it alone. It will rot in about a year down to nothing.

I hope to have the vet out to do Hollywood's teeth in a few days, and the vet wanted some space in the barn out of the weather to do so, so now I have the front all cleaned out again.

Then I went to the barn.

I talked with R a little bit.

River was in a decent mood. We worked for a while with R as she worked with other horses in the arena.

We did our usual Liberty work, and he is already doing the "circle away" much better. I'm trying to teach him the Spanish Walk and I think this is going to be a little tough for him.

The riding barn is on the way home for my husband, so when he finished work, he was able to stop in and visit us while we worked. Kind of a nice surprise.

I did some ridden work, side pass was better today, and his overall attitude was good today.

Then we went home.

My Sweetie's sister sent some clothes for us to look at, and there's one nice hoodie for sure that I'll wear.

My husband was also figuring out what to wear for work tomorrow, and I helped him. It's kind of cute. When he works in the office he tries to look "put together". Most of the time he could care less, but when he's trying to dress for the office, he's all of a sudden caring about whether or not something is more of a summer shirt, or if it's the right color.

He otherwise never has to think about clothes. He wears jeans and t shirts mostly, or sweaters, and once he puts the initial thought into buying it, he knows it all more or less looks okay together after that.

For the office, he carefully holds up the pants and shirts to check that the colors work, and he gets all fussy about everything looking right.

He tried on one or two shirts that he doesn't wear much, and they are pretty loose on him. I know that his tastes have changed a bit from "ridiculously oversized so it doesn't touch my body" to liking more fitted dress shirts. I think those will get donated. I don't know if he ever even wore those shirts, they look brand new still.

Then we watched a very old movie that was on T.V. (on pretty much the only channel we got) all the time when I was a kid. We loved it, but then again we literally only saw a few movies, over and over and over again because that's how T.V. used to be.

I found it on YouTube. "Love at First Bite", with a very young and dashing George Hamilton, if you can believe it. I still enjoyed it, as much for the nostalgia of all us kids watching it together on the couch as for the actual movie.

I learned that when a valuable art collection being offered for sale, the owner of the art couldn't decide whether to have Sotheby's or Christie's do the auction. He had representatives from each auction house meet to do "Rock, Paper, Scissors" to win the account. Christie's got two eleven year old girls to advise them, and won.
