Nov. 21st, 2023 02:46 amToday I am grateful for:
Still okay weather today. I thought last night's wind might be bringing snow and colder weather, but today was still pretty nice.
I feel like I got some good sleep last night.
I spoke with Sister E for awhile, and a friend of hers had a serious issue with her mare. The mare had a miscarriage, but did not expel the fetus, so it required emergency veterinary care. The fetus was causing a systemic infection, but no one knew what had happened, and for a while just didn't understand why she was off her feed. She is apparently doing okay now, after being kept under observation at the vet's for several days after the emergency care.
The friend whose animals we are looking after texted to say that her Mom passed today. This is why she needed me to help, is so she could be with her. I'm sorry for my friend's loss, but I am glad she was able to be with her at the end.
I'm not sure when she's coming back, there will be a service and so on.
The little dog, Rocky pretty much is just part of the crew now. He sometimes sits with the cats, and he has a favorite chair, and seems comfortable. The rabbit (Mr. Bun) seems comfortable too. I can often pet him now.
I went to town today. I had a couple of objectives; to get special urinary care food for Jones at the vet's, and to take the old computer part and a dead smoke detector and drop them into an E-waste bin.
I did accomplish those things.
Then I went to pottery. The craft center had their sale this past weekend, I had put several items in the sale. It looks like I did sell three things, so that's nice.
From what others said, the craft sale did really well, had lots of people come, and we made lots of money especially from having a 50/50 raffle.
I worked on some glazing and decorative under-glazing today. I didn't finish everything, but it will be fine.
I was there with just the "once much closer friend", and we chatted and such. It was fine.
Then I got groceries, and it was nice to have energy for that. Lately I've been having a lot of sciatic type pain, and I do my stretches and so on, and today I felt pretty good, so it was nice to be in town and run errands and get groceries and actually feel "normal".
I came home, and talked a little bit with my husband, but he needed to get to bed. I'm grateful that he stayed up to chat, to help me put away groceries, and he made supper before I got home so I wouldn't have to.
Then I spent some quality time with Mr. Bun.
I learned that Machu Picchu is a 15th century city, and thus not "that old". I always thought it was thousands of years old, like the pyramids.
It is believed to have been a Royal estate, like a "getaway" place, and was only occupied for about 80 years, perhaps in part by the arrival of the Spanish.
