Today I am grateful for:

A warm day again, and I had no pressing need to be anywhere today.

I considered going to town for a "fun" day, but really, I didn't need to, so I just had a quiet day at home.

I called my Sister E back, since we didn't talk long yesterday. She and her husband took some big book cases that they no longer need to their adult son's place. We revisited the topic of her friend's horse, who died, and how sad it was that she died from losing her foal.

I walked around the horse pasture with Roxy and Rocky for a while.

I changed the sheets, mended a small hole in the fitted sheet, and had a nice bath.

By then my Sweetie came home. He was able to pick up the mail and get his hair cut.

He had a bath, we had supper, and then we watched a reasonably goofy movie called "30 Minutes or Less", which was still funny enough to be okay.

That's about it. A very quiet day, and I didn't do much, but that's not always a bad thing.

I've been communicating with our friend, the one who owns the animals we are babysitting. She is back home now, but still needs a few more days to get her house ready to have the animals again, some time to decompress, etc.

I figured she might.

We've now had these little guys for three weeks. The dog, Rocky, aside from pretty much being completely free of any concept of house-breaking, fits in very well. He gets along very well with the cats and Roxy, to the point where you'd think he's been here his whole life.

I wonder if he isn't going to miss our place, and all the other animals, and our twice daily walks outside.

The bunny will likely miss having his big pen, which I'm not sure that he gets so much free roaming space at his own home. I don't think it will miss me at all, since it doesn't seem especially social.

Anyhow, she's planning to come this weekend at some point to get them. We COULD take them back to the city on Saturday, and I'm wondering if we shouldn't, but part of me is also thinking that it might be better for her to come do it herself. If for no other reason than she needs to put the effort in, and come get them herself. You don't leave your animals with someone for three whole weeks AND just get them dropped off at your door like some kind of service.

I learned about the relationship between bees, and compounds produced by fungi that can kill the aphids that destroy hives.
