Jan. 27th, 2024 02:40 amToday I am grateful for:
Beautiful weather for this time of year. A gorgeous sun set.
My Sweetie got up almost the same time he would have to go to work, so it wasn't too different. He left for the airport; his job asked him to go to man a booth at a job fair in Ottawa. I had originally thought it was some kind of thing with meetings, but no. It's a job fair.
It took him most of the day just to get there, must have been some layovers. He got to his hotel around 5 pm his time (two hours later than here).
I enjoyed a bit of time outside with it being so pleasant.
Then I went to see River. Our session was okay, but I am still feeling like we're just kind of grinding away on the same issues. He's trying, but I think he's also burnt out on the repetition.
We worked with R in the arena, with her horse.
Then the girl with health challenges came, and I worked with Quidley while they did their thing.
The energy with Quidley is very different from River. Quidley is pretty young, and not very sure of himself. He's not exactly nervous, but kind of...really wants to please you. So, he's kind of in your space all the time, and you have to ask him out of it again, which I feel a little bad about because I don't want him to feel rejected, but he's too big to allow to "push" on me. I do try to let him know he's a good boy.
That kind of energy though, gets kind of tiring, because you can't really just be with him, he always requires your attention.
River is pretty laid back, and willing to hang out in a low key kind of way.
Anyhow, it was good. I chatted with R while we were in there.
I came home, and had a bath to warm up. The septic system has been behaving, so...I guess it was fine all along, and the alarm going off was a false alarm?
I watched a fairly crappy movie (called "Warning!"). I knitted a bit on a scarf that I started some time ago, and pick at now and again.
Today I learned about Gamma Gardening; the exposure of seeds to gamma radiation to encourage potentially useful mutations. One well-known result is the modern Rio Red grapefruit, which accounts for about three quarters of the grapefruit grown in Texas.
