Today I am grateful for:

Still freakishly beautiful weather for this time of year. Our snow is actually melting.

I texted back and forth with the plumber, and he can come tomorrow morning.

Originally I was going to get him to just set up the plumbing for a sink, and when we got one my husband could finish the job, but my Sweetie found a sink today, so now the job is just to plumb in the sink.

He found a good industrial steel sink with a drain board to go in our mud room for all those yucky jobs that shouldn't be done in the kitchen (we live on an acreage). He kind of went overboard on the taps, but he's funny and particular about taps being high quality. It's a weird thing to be fussy about, but there it is.

I'm looking forward to having a good indoor sink for "animal related items".

It will also be good for the big wash ups of vegetables in the fall.

Is it maybe a bit overkill? Possibly.

It'll probably also last for decades. DECADES!

I did some house things, like putting away dishes, shaking rugs outside, sweeping, changed the cat litter, ordered contact lenses, some laundry, and made quinoa for supper later.

I went to see River, and R was wanting to do a little ride around the property with someone since it was so nice. It was getting dark, but there was a bit of time. She was riding the "sort of rescue" horse, Quidley.

Quidley was super chill. Probably more chill than River, who was fine, but a bit looky at one or two things.

It was still pretty nice.

Then I stuck to my plan to not over-train today, and went through the pattern a bit, but when he did a decent enough job of it, just left it there.

It doesn't seem to help anything for me to go over things too often (sometimes I have to do it until he gets it right enough that I can reward it).

My Sweetie and I got home around the same time, got the sink into the mud room and put together (it has legs).

Then we watched an episode of "The Expanse".

I'll try to learn something about Indonesia.

An "island nation" of over 17,000 small islands, with around 279 million people (VERY poppulated!), and many Muslims (about 87%).

This is the dick country that's preventing West New Guinea from becoming an independent country.

It is apparently a "Presidential Republic", in the flimsiest sense it is a Democratic nation, but the parties are basically cartels, and there is little in the way of human rights protections, there is vote fraud/tampering, no religious freedom from persecution, and absolutely no accountability to the voters.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politics_of_Indonesia#:~:text=The%20Economist%20Intelligence%20Unit%20rated,electoral%20democratic%20country%20in%20Asia.

As seems to be true of this whole Oceania region with tens of thousands of islands and isolated tribes, there are many diverse languages and subgroups of people, and many isolated islands that are sparsely populated.

Was once Dutch colony and gained independence in 1948.

The islands are all formed as part of the Pacific Ring of Fire (volcanoes at the edge of tectonic plates under the ocean) so it is massively unstable, with lots of volcanic activity and earthquakes.

Though they are currently dependent on fossil fuels, they are beginning to do more with renewable energy such as geothermal (because why wouldn't they?).

It has some of the most incredible biodiversity in the entire world (Sumatra is part of Indonesia), naturally at odds with rapid population growth, industrialization, and one of the fastest deforestation rates globally.

They export a lot of food and manufactured goods, and have a pretty strong economy.

Badminton and football (more like soccer) are the national sports.
