Here is why I'm so angry all the time

gottawonderAn enormous amount of our house is in chaos, unfinished, storing drywall, tools, and wood, household items that SHOULD be somewhere else but can't until THAT part of the house is finished, and so on.
Sure, my husband's happy dream is to putter gently forever at one small part at a time, enjoying the joy of only doing one hour or work in a month and still getting to tell people he's renovating a house.
No, that dream is for hobbits, who live to be well over 100 and hale and healthy the whole time, who already live in a fine, finished home, but just want to work on a whimsical folly of a summer house.
Not people who need to work and function in a house, and for whom getting old will mean moving off of the acreage and leaving this home behind them, finished or not.
Here's what our enormous basement, meant to be an area for watching movies, shelving for books, and a location for a cozy wood stove currently looks like:
Instead of being able to use the mud room for storing animal things, garden things, and to have a "mud sink" for things that shouldn't be washed in the kitchen, we have this going on (hopefully to be resolved soon).
