gottawonderToday I am grateful for:
Reasonable weather and light but constant snow. We really need the moisture.
Texting with the handy man, and confirming that he's on for tomorrow. My husband is going to be home and working with him, so I have some hopes that a lot gets done in the mudroom and porch area.
I painted the first coat in the little porch, and it looks okay. It's a "Frankenstein's monster" of plaster; we literally had to re-sculpt one corner that had completely collapsed. We did just chip out the plaster and drywall some of it, I suspect we should have done that with all of it.
I have to do the second coat before I go to bed.
I went to see River, but I felt rushed because of the painting, and I still had to get fuel before I went to the barn.
I did have "enough" time to work with him, but I had to be goal-oriented. Not always a bad thing.
He did pretty well today, a bit more energy since it's cooler again. Good with the turn on the hindquarters that we struggled with, and not bad with getting some forward energy in the trot.
Yes, I did try to have "energy". Sigh.
I rode him awhile, and really focused on using my body to get those small circles nice. It helped.
R asked if she could use him on Monday for a probably one-time client who wanted to focus on bio-mechanics, so I said "sure".
Today was Quidley day, I worked with him while the other person had her lesson. We were working on an issue he has with pinning his ears and showing some attitude in work.
My Sweetie dropped in to say hello as we were wrapping up, and R got quite chatty. It was fun and social.
We came home and watched "I Kill Giants" which wasn't awful, but this just didn't feel like a reasonable interpretation of a young girl struggling with her mother's illness/death.
I'm going to skip the geography lesson tonight, as I still have things to do.
