Today I am grateful for:

Decent weather. A bit cool, but I don't mind these temperatures.

My Sweetie worked with the guys again, and got more done on the soffits/fascia. I'm not sure if it's totally finished? It looks good.

We're talking about maybe getting those guys to build us a simple carport beside the garage. We currently have one of those tent-like quonsets, but the cover gave out years ago, and we've just used a tarp instead, but that literally only lasts for maybe a year or so before tearing, so it's become a nuisance and does not function as a place to park our tractor anymore.

In reality, it has become "more storage", though a quick look at the stuff in it the other day, and some of it can go to the garden shed, and some is just garbage, and we could probably empty it fairly quickly.

I planted my tomato plants in the garden, we watered the garden for a while, and I planted the remaining bedding plants. So, that gets all those plants out of the mud room.

Then I worked with Dandy and Wonder for a short while.

Then we went to the riding barn, and my husband came with me but then biked with that same guy who lives near the riding barn while I worked with River.

We were able to work outside, which is good because I still have no idea whether the whole upcoming show will be outside or indoors. It depends on the weather.

I worked on my freestyle, and we did okay with it, but it's not smooth. Sigh.

Then I worked on some of the other things that will be in classes for this show.

Then we went home, and I saw Wonder really pushing on her fence (she has to spend most of her time in a smaller area with little grass) to get at the lush grass on the other side.

The grass in the bigger pasture is very lush and very high, and I appreciate how much Hollywood kept it down, especially along this fence that Wonder was pushing on. I didn't realize how tall and lush it was, and didn't see that Wonder had been reaching over to eat it. It's the first summer without Hollywood, and we didn't plan for the extra grass.

So, we did a bit of frantic grass clearing with the weed whacker and raked it all up and got it out of the pasture as best we could all along Wonder's fence ling, and hopefully taking away the tempting grass will keep her from leaning on the fence.

Then we came in and watched some "Justified". This show is starting to feel a bit like an updated version of "The Dukes of Hazzard" in some ways.

I can't get over how HARD we end up working in the summer. There is just so much work to do outside, it never lets up, and there's so little time to get everything done. The fact that we are often struggling against growing things like grass and trees and weeds, and the urgency of natural forces makes you feel like you NEVER GET ENOUGH DONE in a day.
