Today I am grateful for:

Getting some sleep, finally.

That the cats allowed me to sleep.

I went to town for groceries, and decided not to do any pottery today, just focus on groceries.

I did do some recreational shopping, which was nice because I had lots of time to just walk around in a clean, air conditioned store.

I found a few not too bedraggled plants on clearance at the giant food store.

I got the groceries, and came home.

I let everyone out into their pastures for a while, and pulled some weeds in the garden that has somehow gotten so overgrown this week that I can barely see the vegetable plants. Sigh.

Then I watered it for a while.

We watched an episode of "Justified".

Then I went into the room with my clothes in it and tidied and hung up things that were piled the last time I was looking for an outfit.

I found only slightly bedraggled end-of-season plants for 50 cents each: a basil, a silver thyme, a lavender, and two creeping phlox. I sort of wanted to buy the whole section.

I always feel sorry for the ones at the end, too. The plants I found were some dianthus that were in good shape, and some other plant without a tag that I don't recognize, but it looks cool. It's a perennial.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! You're the first person outside of my family I've ever heard used the word bedraggled. I've seriously had conversations with caregivers and even doctors because no one has a clue at all what I mean when I say that. They all think I mean Bedazzled?!

On a separate note I'm glad you had some sleep and a chill kind of a day which sounded like it was needed.

I don't hear too many people use that word anymore either. I think it's a word that is used mainly by people who like to read, as it's not really a modern word.

Interesting. Not really speaking with my mother right now, otherwise I'd ask if that was her experience growing up as well. She's the only one I've heard use it.
