Jul. 13th, 2024 11:40 pmToday I am grateful for:
My Sweetie made it to his plane on time. There are some connecting flights, but the last update I got was from Toronto, with a nine hour flight ahead of him.
A cooler day today, which is a great relief.
I felt a little bit at loose ends today, so I decided to go have a bit of a "me" day in town (not the town where I do pottery and get groceries).
I still did some useful things, such as took a big bag of recycling to the depot, and got the mail.
I went to the thrift store, (I brought two shopping bags of things from home to donate, since I am determined to at least offset what I bring home from thrift stores). I found some clothes, two books, two DVDs. Some fantastic silk scarves that I researched when I got home, and they are vintage ones that sell for a fair chunk of change on Etsy.
The store I go to is a good one for silk scarves.
I got home and had a fairly long conversation with Sister E, which is nice because she's kind of been incommunicado this past week or so. Then I let everyone out into their pastures, and I mowed for quite a while. My Sweetie mowed about half of the yard a few days ago, which is nice. Getting the other half done today makes me feel a little less like everything is falling into ruin. Long grass makes me feel unkempt.

Date: 2024-07-15 08:59 am (UTC)I have an absolute ton of scarves, mostly inexpensive ones from the thrift store. You can usually find them for around five dollars, but some of the ones I've found would retail for a LOT more.

Date: 2024-07-17 08:43 pm (UTC)I suppose a person could do it with less precious scarves, like thrift store polyester or cotton ones, and see if the process works.
