Jul. 16th, 2024 11:42 pmToday I am grateful for:
That late last night, when it was cooler in the house, I did some cleaning and putting away in the dining room. That room had just become a dumping area for everything, and of course then you can't clean it either. It had become anxiety inducing visual clutter, and now it looks better and doesn't bother me so much.
My Sweetie called about the same time, very late his time. Today was a lot like yesterday, just sitting in that little room listening to "things they should take into consideration". He said a lot of it had nothing to do with their roles in building this facility, that they are more like design issues that should be addressed at a much higher level, and taken to the engineers to make changes.
My husband's job is to facilitate the execution of those designs, he can't make any changes to them. He's starting to feel a bit baffled about why they are all there, as the stuff they are covering doesn't even seem to apply to their roles. They maybe should have been talking to a different group of people.
Well, so there's another day for him. Tomorrow he still has more meetings, and after they are done he will fly to Stockholm and get to his hotel. Then HIS mini vacation starts.
Today was a scorcher again, so I didn't do very much.
I did go see River, at roughly our usual time. The poor guy had a couple of big sore spots where the horse flies were persistently biting him, so I cleaned them and covered them with a cream, and put a cream repellent all around those areas, and his groin, which was also vulnerable to horse flies.
Our work was pretty low key, as it was so hot, but still useful. We focused on his yields, staying with me at a purposeful walk on the ground, and making soft circles ridden.
Another woman had her lesson, and she was working on getting her two horses to work together at Liberty, so that was fun to watch.
When I came home, I let everyone out into their pastures, and had something to eat.
When I worked with Wonder and Dandy, I thought I would see if I could get them to both come with me. It took some doing, but I did get them both to stay beside me, and to stay together in a circle around me. That' pretty darn good for two equines who are pretty green at all of this.
