Beautiful weather. A little cool, but pleasant.
My Sweetie got up before I did, and did some work in the basement towards getting the tiling done. I'm not sure what he did, prep work of some kind on the wall.
We wanted to see something at the "Fringe Festival" in the city. We try to see something each year, as it's an opportunity to see all kinds of live acts that you might not otherwise see.
We settled on seeing a magician, which was partly due to some shows not starting until later in the week, and some were too late at night given we'd have to drive home after, etc.
I had time to work with Wonder and Dandy before we left, so I did. I have a tough time getting Dandy's attention when I work him with Wonder, as he leaves a lot more, and tries to eat a lot more. If I work with JUST him, he seems more focused and I can walk fast enough to keep him from trying to eat. The moment I bring Wonder in, he goes back to taking off and doing his own thing. Weird.
I did finally get both of them with me at the same time, but it took some doing. Yet, the last time I worked them I got their attention easily, and we had a short, sweet session.
We put a fly mask on Wonder as they were really bugging her. I never thought she would tolerate one, but she was actually just fine with it, it even had the ear covers that I never would have thought she would allow.
After we finished up all the chores etc, we cleaned up. I made a point of wearing nice clothes and a bit of makeup, and we went to the city.
We had lots of time to walk around for a while before the magician, and ate. I really like exploring the older, interesting neighborhoods that have interesting yards, bike paths, parks, and so on. I don't find any such joy in the new parts of the city with the bland, endlessly repetitive subdivisions with cookie cutter McMansions.
Then we walked to the venue, which is a curling rink in the winter, a community space in the summer.
The magician was really good, and I liked that it wasn't a huge, flashy show. Just a guy and his act, and he was great. Kind of relaxed, funny, and he engaged the crowd a lot. Inclusive, even.
It was a nice walk back to the car. The festival was kind of going on all around that area, so there was some live free music we stopped to watch for a while. Fun people watching.
Then we came home, and watched an episode of "Justified".
A pretty nice day, overall.
