Sep. 7th, 2024 10:30 pmToday I am grateful for:
That the heat doesn't seem to be bothering me much, maybe because it is so dry.
It's been very cold at night, and very hot during the day.
I decided to go to town today.
I went to the thrift store, and enjoyed having lots of time to browse since I went by myself, not as part of a day with my husband where he is rushing me a bit. It doesn't mean that I buy more stuff, necessarily, but that I feel NO PRESSURE to be done in a hurry.
I found some nice skinny silk scarves and a nice fall jacket, a denim shirt, some books and a movie. I did take a bag of things from home to donate as a volume offset, and the volume was about the same as what I bought. So, neutral shopping, volume-wise.
Then I went for a nice walk around a big lake that is semi-manmade. It was some kind of big marsh that got dredged out and expanded to make a lake big enough for boat racing. It has been developed for recreation to have a good walking path around it, and some boardwalk areas.
It's nice to watch the ducks do their thing. They're not worried about people, so you can just watch them at a fairly close range.
I also walked around a little park that has some heritage buildings, and they must have done a lot of work there in the last few years, as I don't recall that it had such nice flower beds everywhere. It was really lovely.
Then I came home and let everyone out for a while, and talked to my Sweetie.
His first day of the MS ride went well, nothing dramatic or out of the ordinary. Then all of the participants went to the event supper and speeches.
