Sep. 12th, 2024 10:21 pmToday I am grateful for:
Cool and crisp today, and a bit wet from last night's rain.
Kitty snuggles!
I did some work outside. I pulled weeds out of an area of the yard that is supposed to be "mulched" with gravel, but that seems to do nothing to cut down on the weeds.
Then I messed around with the compost pile a bit, trying to put together some kind of walls on two sides so that I can pile it more efficiently. What I ended up with might be useful.
I also took some of the accumulation of cat litter out to the area we dump it (it breaks down over time, it's basically sawdust).
My Aunt E and Uncle M from back home called to wish me a happy birthday, even though it isn't today. I thought it was really sweet of them to remember at all. We didn't talk for very long, but it was nice to hear from them.
I did let everyone out into their pastures for a while.
Then I came inside and felt COLD after I ate, so I wrapped up with Celeste for a while.
I've been watching the mini-series "1883" and it's good, but it's kind of every horrible thing that could ever happen, happening to a small group of people over a fairly short period of time. I watched two episodes last night, and three of the main characters killed something like five or six people each in what would have been about a week of their time. That seems...unsustainable?
