Sep. 26th, 2024 01:15 amToday I am grateful for:
Beautiful weather. Warm and sunny and gorgeous.
How soft and fuzzy the ponies are, now that their winter coats are forming.
Getting the dishes done.
I went to the barn for our lesson, and it took a while to find River. He and a buddy were in a remote part of the pasture by themselves, mostly hidden in the bush. It was still nice to walk around in the pasture looking for them.
We had a good lesson, working on our stationary Liberty circle, and the away circle. In our ridden work I used the saddle today, because I think I will use it instead of the bareback pad for the fun show coming up this weekend at the barn, and I haven't practiced posting for a while.
We did some equitation type work, walk, trot, canter outside, then some work in the arena where the footing is better. We got some nice transitions and good differentiation between collected and extended gaits.
R is really gung ho about yet another freestyle opportunity with the Liberty organization we all belong to; another video competition. She's REALLY SUGGESTING that I do a "Beetlejuice" themed freestyle, since the competition will be near Halloween. It was actually really funny how excited she was about the idea, which she COULD do herself, but somehow she thinks I should do it.
We talked a bit about what we could do, and it sounds fun, so maybe we'll go for it.
I came home and my Sweetie was home shortly after, and we made supper and watched more "1883". Some of it is really oversimplified, and the whole thing is "a lot", but it's entertaining.
