I've been watching a Japanese guy on Instagram make very refined but plain teapots. I can see how labour-intensive they are, especially in fitting the lid and attaching a base.

I love the whole thing but I can't stop looking at the lid. bravo! I used to make tea baskets to give to new neighbors with cookies or brownies and new kitchen towel to bring some cheer. or two friends as gifts with AT Cup and all the tea fixings with a book about tea that had other happy stories in it. but to give all of that with an actual teapot one has made???? wow - but a cool skill you have taken time and hard work to Gain.
It took me a while to get comfortable making lids, there's definitely a bit of effort in learning how to make them. Not bad once you've had some practice, but it's a learning curve.
