Oct. 10th, 2024 10:50 pmToday I am grateful for:
Lovely weather. It rained last night, barely enough to even dampen the ground, but it took some of the dust out of the air.
Roxy is finished her medication, so I could sleep today without getting up part way through.
She seems to be eating and pooping well.
A quiet, drama free day, likely because I didn't talk to anyone besides my husband.
He got home right after work today, and went straight back to mowing the horse pasture, was able to finish that up, and then went to mow a strip of grass and saplings at the edge of our property where it meets a field.
While he did that, I spent time with Wonder grooming her very lovely mane and tail, then I did some weed whacking here and there, though I don't know if it really accomplished much.
The pasture definitely looks rough, but it likely needed to be mowed. That tall grass gets to be a mess in the next year, and there were getting to be a lot of small trees where we didn't want them. Now it looks very roughly mowed with tons of piled up grass, but you can walk it again.
I did let Wonder out (with her grazing mask, bottom even taped up, because she shouldn't eat the mowed grass) so she could run around for a while, and the other critters spent some time in their pasture.
We walked around the pasture a few times too, just because we haven't really been able to walk around it most of the summer.
Then we came in, did a few things like changed the cat litter, the dishes, changed the sheets, some laundry.
We watched an episode of "Justified".
