Oct. 29th, 2024 12:36 amToday I am grateful for:
Wonder seems okay today, and while she often stands in one spot, likely for lack of stimulation, it doesn't seem to be rigid with fear.
The farrier came today, just after noon. She is a kind farrier. She was very gentle and understanding when Hollywood needed consideration about her legs needing breaks and such because of arthritis. Ursula the pony has damage in one of her shoulders that was there when we got her, and while the vet said it doesn't seem to cause her a lot of pain, it isn't comfortable for her to lift it, and also to put all of her weight on it when you do the other legs, so you have to be aware if she starts to shift.
Anyhow, she's doing okay, and everything went quickly and smoothly, so I'm happy for that. I don't shoe any of the horses, or do anything specialized, just a normal trim.
Since I was up a bit earlier than normal, I was in good shape to get to pottery. I still got there at around 3, and earlier would be better, but 3 was okay. I saw D there, and a few others, though they were all leaving already.
I did throw, managing to do a simple bowl and part of a teapot again (I want to make several this year, and see if I can't improve on that with practice), but so little time!
I did bring my tools home, so that maybe I can try to throw in the garage some time this week.
Then I got groceries. It was a bigger trip, since last week we did the "minimal shopping" of having my husband pick up the absolute necessities, and the week before I had done a lighter trip.
I am very grateful to be able to get groceries, both physically and financially, and to have a vehicle and so on.
It's funny how long it took for me to get used to the way the store looks now, and they moved a lot of the food around so it was hard to find things I usually get. They did a lot of changes to the store almost two years ago, and I'm still a bit thrown off.
I came home, started quinoa in the cooker, left everything in the car until my Sweetie got home, and took Roxy out to the horse pasture to walk around a bit. It was already more or less dark, but we have a good yard light. I also took Wonder out of her smaller pen for a walk around the horse pasture for stimulation.
When my Sweetie got home, not that long after I did, he walked around with us.
Then we took all the groceries in and put them away, and ate, and watched some "Justified".

That's the thing, R CARES about the horses, and does a great job training them and they are all in good shape. You just have to wade through a lot of that spiritual mumbo jumbo from time to time.
I'm glad that Wonder got over whatever was worrying her so much too. She gets like this sometimes; I think it's when she knows there is a moose nearby. She gets so worried and fixated about "watching for it" that she isn't walking around or even eating.
I'm glad I finally got to do a bit of work at the pottery studio too, though it wasn't nearly enough time and it felt rushed. I only worked for about an hour and a half, when normally I would work for over three hours. It makes a difference when you're trying to be creative, how much time you have.

Date: 2024-10-30 07:42 am (UTC)yes time is so important because it gives you the freedom when you're being creative. Unless your stress creating, it's vital to have time. I'm glad you still got to make some progress with what the time you had.

The voice dictator must be very frustrating at times, but I understand that when there are typos, it's not your fault. I also don't worry too much about people making typos, just happy that they are communicating with me.

But writing text and comments is so different from emails and business letters. Even still, sometimes voice dictation drives me nuts when it won't capitalize what I need and vice versa! Still grateful for it though because like you said.... For me it just means I'm happy I can communicate with others.
