Today I am grateful for:

Not feeling too badly today, in spite of a very restless sleep and things waking me up.

I was able to wash the dishes and start some laundry and change the sheets before I left to see River.

My husband is now telling me I should be changing the tires on my car to the set of winter tires we have, when last week he told me not to bother. One day we'll get something definitive sorted out.

He's supposed to call our mechanic, who was supposed to have taken our ancient X-Terra to an auction sale for us months ago, and I wonder if he's done it since he never called us back to say it was done, or to give us the money for it. My husband has stalled and stalled and stalled on calling him, and this is another one of those "honor among guys" thing, in that you're not supposed to "nag". Sigh.

I bet it hasn't been sold, and is sitting among the tall grass at the mechanic's place getting full of mice.

I worked with Dandy and Wonder in the big pasture, though Wonder was all worked up about cattle again and had no focus. I had good focus from Dandy until Wonder was all stupid, and eventually after quite some time of running around going "eeeeeeekkk, cattle!" Wonder calmed down and was fine.

Then I went to see River. The cut on his hind leg looks like it scabbed over nicely, and it's not puffy.

He had good energy and focus, and we did well with things today. He's still (always, it seems) really slow and sticky on his side pass towards the right. He'll DO it, but with no grace. We do work on it, give relief, and praise for his efforts.

It was a nice session, and I'm glad that cut looks okay. I was worried about it.

I came home, my Sweetie had made supper, and we watched some "Scooby Doo". It's pretty mindless and I barely pay attention to it, but it seems to make my Sweetie happy.

Now I want to know about the X-terra.

I talked to my husband on the phone today at work, and asked him if he'd spoken to our mechanic LIKE HE SAID HE WOULD.

He was like "um, no, but I'll try!". Meaning it would flee from his brain like mice from a grass fire the moment our conversation was done.

Sigh.

Update: the vehicle is still sitting there in the tall grass, likely getting full of mice. The mechanic was sick at the time of the auction he was supposed to take our vehicle to, so now I guess it's going to sit there until the next auction in the spring.

I wonder when he was going to let us know?

Yeah, I know. I hate loose ends like this.

Nope. If we wanted to or needed to, we could just take the initiative to sell it ourselves, maybe.

Given that initiative is hard to find around here....
