Dec. 12th, 2024 11:37 pmToday I am grateful for:
How nice the living room area looks, all tidied up, though my friend ended up not coming today to paint together.
I had a decent conversation with Sister E, though of COURSE I had to call HER.
I had to go through quite an elaborate sequence to explain to her the funny thing I did at the barn last night, but in the end I think it got through.
She seems okay. Of course we discussed Sister N's ill health and Trainwreck being lost in terms of what to do with herself these days.
I was able to work with Wonder and Dandy somewhat, though the deep snow has really put a cramp in trying to walk with them in the big pasture. If they "leave" at all, every time they do so is exhausting.
I did manage to walk around the pasture once with Dandy, since he wasn't trying to leave. Wonder was VERY CONCERNED about me working with her today, and we only got so far with her.
By then, my Sweetie got home, and I invited him to come out to the pasture with some snowshoes, as the snow is PERFECT for that right now. We did walk around the horse pasture for a while with the snow shoes, and a lovely moon that was already shining brightly (it gets dark so early these days).
Then we went inside, and he wanted to do some baking.
He was rooting around for baking ingredients and managed to spill quinoa and sugar (he only THOUGHT it was sugar, more on that later) all over the pantry, so that was a rough start.
He made some muffins using brown sugar, and then some molasses cookies, only it turns out he used salt instead of sugar for those, so they had to be tossed. It was pretty sad, because I know he loves molasses cookies and these looked very nice in spite of being salty.
So, somewhere in the past someone put salt into a clear plastic canister without marking it, and here we are.
At least he has muffins for work lunch.
What's odd, is that it even smelled bad. It smelled SALTY in the house for an hour after he was done cooking.
Then we watched some more "Scooby Doo" and they are getting so repetitive and meaningless to me that I am starting to just sleep through them because I have ceased to care. My husband though, still wants to watch only these when he gets home from work.
Well, there are only so many of them left.
