Aug. 21st, 2019 12:43 amOur two friends came back again today, and a lot of progress in the tear-down was made. I mostly walked through the house and took down every light fixture from the ceiling (power was off), and kept all the bits together. We're likely donating most of them. I also took off the cover plates from all the power outlets (we'll be taking the boxes out of the wall so they can be re-used).
We got some of the interior walls torn down, lots of gyp rock removed, and the tin from around the bottom of the exterior all piled up.
My sweetie and I also still managed to load a trailer with metal after the others went home, and dug up more flower bed space to move some more plants away from the trailer. I thought I had made enough space, but there always seems to be a few more plants that need to be moved.
As always, I am grateful for our health, to be able to engage in such a huge project, the means to make it happen, friends with the ability and desire to help us, and for all the circumstances that allowed this to work for us.
Some other friends dropped by to see our progress, and to say that they would come help on Thursday.
For a nice little bath to freshen up.
