Today I am grateful for:

My husband put in some more work on the floor, and he managed to finish laying it by supper time. No, it is not FINISHED, as it needs to be sanded and varnished, and there is a lot of other work that has to happen in that room (window frames, two door frames and doors, painting the walls, cutting the door into what is our current bedroom), but the laying of the wood is finished, which was my personal goal for the holidays.

I did normal chores, and today left Dandy in with Wonder while I went to see River.

River did well at our ground work, and like clockwork, as I was getting ready to ride, K came along to throw hay, so River was pretty distracted about that. I did work with him for a few minutes after the hay was put out, just to make a point.

I only chatted with K for a few minutes, mostly about the change in weather we're going to get. It's supposed to get a lot colder in the next couple of days, so I let him know that I would put River's heavy blanket on.

I came home and put Dandy back with Ursula and the goats. It was very clear and there were a lot of stars visible.

My Sweetie had stayed home to finish the floor, and to do some baking (he's been on a big baking kick this winter). He made raspberry scones to take to a get together we are doing with some friends tomorrow, and some banana bread that he can take for his lunches when he goes back to work.

We watched a "film" called "The First King" that was about Romulus and Remus and the myth of the founding of Rome. Except it apparently didn't really follow the accepted story at all. It sucked, to be honest. It felt like they spent about five dollars on making it, and it relied heavily on people looking very dirty and yelling at each other and fighting.

Yet, it was rated pretty highly on IMDB and people commented on how fantastic it was, and how accurate (?) the depiction of people from that time, and that the original film was in Latin.

Well, whatever.

It would have been a great film if a college student and their friends had made it. You kind of expect more from something that made it to DVD internationally.
