Jan. 6th, 2025 10:59 pmToday I am grateful for:
Much nicer temperatures than our low last week.
For my little car, and being able to drive it places I want/need to go.
I did chores and went to town today for pottery.
I had a bit of feelings of overwhelm when I first got up, because it felt like I had a lot to do in town today, and then my friend D extended a warm offer to visit at her place after pottery. If I did that, it would mean not having time to do groceries, that or being very late getting home.
I talked with my husband, and he kindly offered to get some groceries tomorrow, though that means another week of getting "enough to get by" which will mean at some point soon me needing to get EVERYTHING.
So I first went to the ag supply store and picked up the animal bedding pellets that we use for cat litter.
Then I went to pottery. I got back three things I had finished, and a bowl my husband had made. They turned out really nicely, the glaze looks great!
I didn't get a LOT done in pottery today, but I did get my two teapots glazed and set on the cart to be fired. I had another bowl dry enough for bisque firing.
That's all I did.
Then I went to Winner's to see what was shaking with the clearance prices, and got a classic style rain coat that I want for a freestyle costume with River, but is also a nice jacket that I will wear otherwise. I got it for a very good price that I think may even have been an accident.
Then I went to D's house. I was jokingly thinking on the way to her house that I could use a stir fry, and weirdly enough when I got to her place she was cooking to make rice bowls (more or less veggies and rice). Funny how things work like this.
I told her about that, and how if that worked we should try visualizing things we really want this year, just to see if we got results.
Her daughter, who is my age more or less, chatted with us for awhile today too, which is nice.
It was a good visit, and nice to have a friend like this in my life.
Then I came home, showed my Sweetie the finished pottery, and he was already in bed.
Still, good that what started as a day that felt very pressured worked out okay and I felt nice for having a visit with D.
