Today I am grateful for:

A break in the very cold weather. It warmed up a lot today, and is supposed to keep on going to a bit above freezing by tomorrow.

That's literally going from -35 C last night to around 0 C in about 24 hours.

I did get good sleep, which is always nice. Of course to get enough sleep always seems to mean I wake up feeling like I'm late for everything already.

I did chores and got cleaned up, and went to town for pottery.

Everyone from my class was already gone, but I was able to work for two hours, which is barely enough time, but I got two mugs and a bowl dipped in glaze and back on the cart to go through the kiln again.

My two teapots are now finished, and I'm very happy with them. Yay!

As I was cleaning up, two women from the "beginner's class" came in a bit early. One of them I see a lot. I got talking with her, and we might meet up on a few Saturdays so she can work on throwing. Throwing is one of those things you have to just DO, over and over again. I don't think these new potters are getting enough encouragement to just get in there and try. This other "self appointed instructor" is one of those people who doesn't seem to inspire people to just DO THINGS and be okay with failure. Failure is a part of growth with pottery, and in the beginning especially, it's the only way to develop skills.

The nice thing is, it's only clay.

Then I went to get groceries, and it's nice that I wasn't completely drained while doing it.

It was a medium sized trip, since I had done a huge haul last week we're stocked up on dry goods/cans.

I am very grateful to be able to buy groceries, to be able to donate to the food bank, and for the often very nice interactions with the people who work there. I'm grateful for having a nice little car, and the strength to carry everything and walk around a big store like that.

I got home and my Sweetie arrived shortly. He helped bring everything in, admired the tea pots, we went back outside and put the goats back in their normal pen, took blankets off of everyone else, came back inside and made supper.

We watched an episode of "The Orville". I'm finding them to be a bit preachy. Each episode kind of deals with some modern ethical issue.
