Feb. 11th, 2025 11:50 pmToday I am grateful for:
Getting a decent sleep last night.
I talked with Sister E about light, fluffy things.
I tried to preemptively call Trainwreck so as to have at least some control over the timing, but she...must have been passed out? I texted her to say we'd missed the window of availability for today, and that I would rather not talk tomorrow before my riding lesson.
I did some cleaning and putting away in the bathroom and the hall entryway beside it, and everything looks nice there now. It's a constant battle against this dense, grey sludgey dust that we always have. I'm fairly sure it's mostly pet and human dander.
I did chores, and it was around -20 C ish, more or less, but manageable with the bright sunlight.
The goats are likely getting REALLY bored of being in the garage, but it's supposed to go down to -30 C tonight and pretty cold still all the way to the weekend for sure.
My Sweetie got home just before I was leaving for the barn, so I got to say "hi" at least.
I saw R in passing at the barn, and she's doing fine.
River did well tonight. A little bit drifting away on our Liberty circles, but not bad. Very good on yields at Liberty, and he did really well with the work with the umbrella.
I didn't ride for very long, just long enough to stand up for a count of thirty and to do some side passes, which were nice.
Then I spent some extra time with River in the barn letting him warm up a bit before taking him back outside, and just doing some relaxation stuff with him, that he seemed to really enjoy.
Then I went home, returned Dandy to Ursula, and my Sweetie had made supper. Yay!
We watched another episode of "Rescue Me", which is seemingly mostly about the exploration of toxic masculinity.
It's interesting that this is written by Dennis Leary, as he always has that odd mix of SEEMING like a VERY "manly toxic man", but I think he's actually pretty open minded and his shtick is all about exposing male insecurity?
