Today I am grateful for:

Trainwreck did call, I didn't hear it (I have the phone turned down most of the time) and she texted "sorry, I forgot". I had let her know that I wouldn't talk to her today, because...well...I just said I wouldn't.

I try to be careful now with the calls I make before I go to my riding lesson, as I want to be clear in my focus when I am in a lesson. Sometimes even an undramatic phone call with Trainwreck can bother me a lot. I don't think she understands how much she messes with my day.

It was a bit warmer, around -14C instead of the below -20C we've had. I brought the goats back outside, and I'm hoping they didn't get too acclimated to the warmer garage. It might get down to -20 C later tonight, which they can tolerate normally. I will bring them in again if it looks like they are uncomfortable.

They were going nuts being cooped up inside, and it isn't really good for them longer term.

I will probably still have to bring them back in by this weekend, as we're supposed to get one much colder night again.

I went to the barn, and R was in the arena with other clients, but today she was right on time for River and I's lesson.

We had a good session. We worked a bit with the giant umbrella, and got a bit creative with ways to use the umbrella that might look good in a freestyle. I'm really pleased with how comfortable River is with the umbrella.

We also worked on elements from some patterns that might come up in the first virtual show in March.

We went through the stationary trot circles, and this time R recorded them. She might use them as videos on her online video collection for people who are members of her Facebook group.

I did stand again for a count of thirty, this time also shifting my weight a bit to make sure River will still stand if I'm not perfectly balanced, and he did.

I have some homework again, with polishing elements using the umbrella and the patterns.

I talked with R's husband K for quite a while in the barn. It's nice that he was interested in my painting, and he is recently going through a change in eating similar to mine in terms of really cutting back on sugar and processed food.

He IS eating a lot of meat and animal fats though, which might work for losing weight but I don't know about it being healthy over all. I know some schools of thought swear by it.

Then I came home and my Sweetie arrived about the same time. I returned Dandy to be with Ursula and the goats.

Then we ate and watched an episode of "Rescue Me", which was pretty good. I'm glad not every episode is going to be grisly.
