Feb. 25th, 2025 12:08 amToday I am grateful for:
I LOVE this warmer weather. Being able to go outside wearing only a light jacket feels like I'm getting away with something.
I felt like I got a good night's sleep, even though I woke up about an hour earlier than usual.
I chose to call Trainwreck, and you know what? When she's eating and not drinking, she is fine to talk with. She needs to take better care of herself.
After doing chores I went to town for pottery/groceries.
I worked on trimming a vase I made on Saturday, and I don't know if I like it or not. It's odd.
The woman who often comes in before the evening class starts came in today at the perfect time for me to be able to work with her again. I had my stuff all cleaned up and could leave the moment it seemed necessary.
I helped her a few weeks ago, to throw on the wheel. There isn't a real instructor for throwing at this studio, apparently they...watch videos. So I helped her a while ago, and from the looks of things she practiced on her own. She's already much better at centering the ball of clay and starting the hole.
So we worked on getting the walls of the cylinder more even, and she did a great job, and I think that what we threw today would be worth keeping as a fairly new potter. There are lots of options for decoration with a plain cylinder.
I'm really glad to be able to help someone with pottery. It's very satisfying.
Then I went to Winner's. I hemmed and hawed on a few items. There were a nice pair of sandals that I decided would feel sweaty because they had a vinyl sole, so no to those. An entry way rug that I decided no to, because it had looped carpet, which the cats would destroy.
I did find a VERY SOFT furry "rug" that I think will be nice as a throw. I also found a very long, Greek inspired wrap dress on clearance! If I ever get the chance to attend some lovely event at a rotunda, I'm ready.
Then I went to get groceries, and I am very grateful to be physically able to do so, to have the means to buy what we like more or less, and a car to get it all home.
When I got home my Sweetie had just gotten home too. After returning Dandy to his homeland, I decided we should clean the fridge out before putting the new food into it.
This wasn't a super thorough job, but not bad. There was hardly anything in the fridge since it was the end of the food cycle, so a good time to do so. There wasn't too much gross stuff hiding in there, but a lot of spills on the shelves and crumbs.
We didn't watch anything, as by then it was bedtime for my Sweetie. I might watch something on my own later.
