Today I am grateful for:

Getting decent sleep.

Talking with my husband more about whether it is feasible to have our own little building to have a pottery studio (to house a kiln, good idea to have a separate building for that). It is doable, and he wants to use it too, it's not just for me.

It's hard to wrap my head around being able to do this finally, but we've wanted our own studio for YEARS, since the drama at the pottery studio in town never ends.

Recognizing that I had plenty of time before my lesson today to do some yoga and try to relax.

I spent some time also watching the video R posted of that pattern, so that I was better prepared to do it today with River.

I went to the barn, and it is Ceasar's birthday (one of R and K's horses at the barn).

R was pretty good about being done on time for the start of our lesson today. The people before me were done pretty much on time.

With a bit of warming up and some discussion of the pattern for clarity, we gave it a shot and I think we did okay. A lot better than I thought we'd do.

Of course, River was still not very forward, but I think it's fair to say that he is generally "not very forward".

R thought we did pretty well on a very tough pattern, with no real practice or coaching from her. I did work on it a bit yesterday, and watched the video, and that was it.

We then worked on going between "extended" vs "collected" in trot and canter. River had a really good canter in one direction today, especially nice and loose and forward. The other direction was okay, but he seemed a bit tight again.

Overall a good lesson, and I am SO GLAD we got our pattern.

Then I came home and put Dandy back in his pen, made supper, and found another series on our drive to start watching since it sucks to not have something to watch with my Sweetie. We watched the first episode of "Fringe" which was interesting, and according to my husband a lot of things in this show's plots will require the use of LSD to make the necessary breakthrough, so that'll be fun.
