gottawonderToday I am grateful for:
Ongoing beautiful weather. It's wonderful not to need a heavy jacket to go outside.
Good sleep.
I feel grateful for having good health overall, for having options like going outside, being with my animals, going for a walk, doing housework or chores. I can go see River, or do pottery, do some art, read a book. I have options.
I did some "hair focused" cleaning. We've got a lot of hair around here. I used this rubber hand-held brush thingy and a spray bottle to get most of the hair off of the area rugs. That works better than a vacuum, but it's time consuming.
I swept. I cleaned the toilet. I did some laundry. I did the dishes. I made quinoa for supper.
I did chores.
Then I went to see River.
I was a little late, so I had to be concise with our work today, which worked out fine.
We started with the lunging, wasted no time in trying to get some energy. He did really well, and the reward is that when he does something well, we move on. No repetition, which he dislikes.
I was able to stand up on him today, holding the open umbrella. That's a big deal. He seemed very okay with it. The most important thing, after him being comfortable with it, is that he doesn't walk/move. He stayed still. Yay!
I stayed to work with another of R's horses, Gunner. He's another older guy who needs to be worked to keep his muscles. He was really sweet to work with today.
Earl the pirate cat at the barn was also really sweet today. He's got to be close to 20 years old, and he looks it too. He pretty much just wanders around the barn yelling his face off, because he no longer knows if he's been fed or not, or something. He is very sweet though, and loves being pet.
Then I came home, and my Sweetie got home shortly. He made supper, and we watched "The Scarlet Pimpernel", which was both great and campy/awful at the same time. Incredible costumes, but the affected accent of the main character was HILARIOUS! Also, the fact that all of the "French" people in this movie had very British accents. Not one single person had a French accent. I couldn't figure out who was supposed to be French, who was British, and whether or not the scene was in France or England.
