Today I am grateful for:

Good sleep, though I awoke after only six hours.

I've been seeing lovely Northern Lights the last few nights when I go out to do chores. It's been warm enough to just sit with Wonder and look up at the night sky for a while.

The weather here was VERY beautiful, with lots of sunlight and very warm. The snow is melting rapidly. All the snow we got in the last storm is gone on the high areas.

We had a leisurely start to the day together.

I used some of the nice soap we got yesterday. This particular slice smelled odd, but lathered well. I used the lavender shampoo bar on my hair, and it rinsed out well. The shampoo bars I've used before left a film on my hair. This one worked great.

We did chores, then went to the barn to see River.

We saw K when we arrived, and talked with him. He was very interested in the sorts of things we do in the city on our fun days, like going to the art gallery and just walking around seeing things, the fun stores. He and R don't have a lot of time for just walking around and doing things for fun.

I took his blankets off on Friday because it is now plenty warm enough. R keeps her own horses covered with a light blanket all year because she doesn't have time for extra grooming, but I like River to have the warm months to enjoy being "naked".

He WAS a bit muddy, but that's fine. He had a very happy look on his face when I went out to catch him.

His breathing wasn't great today, so I didn't push him too hard, and gave him lots of breaks.

He did well on things that didn't require a lot of forward energy. He did well on the yields and in general attitude and partnership.

He had trouble with the pattern practice, likely because of being out of breath. I didn't push it too much.

I was able to stand on him again with the umbrella for a count of thirty, which is GREAT!

We came home, and my Sweetie went inside to do his baking for things to take for his lunches, and I spent time outside with the critters.

I groomed Wonder and got more of her winter hair loose. I spent a few minutes seeing if there were inklings of remembering the Liberty work we did before Christmas, and there was some recognition.

I let Wonder out into the big pasture with a grazing mask on, since I am really unsure of her tolerance for the new grass.

Dandy did some running around. I forget how fast that little sucker is.

I let the ponies and goats out into their bigger pasture, and everyone seemed to enjoy it immensely. Roxy got lots of time to sniffle around too, while I sat in the pasture and just enjoyed being outside.

Then I came in and made more of that oatmeal stuff with peanut butter and honey, that doesn't require flour or processed sugar. I added cocoa this time, and it's good.

Then we ate supper and watched an episode of "Fringe".
