Apr. 21st, 2025 11:09 pmToday I am grateful for:
That I didn't have to be outside today. It wasn't awful, but there was a colder edge to things today, and overcast.
Decent sleep.
My Sweetie was driving back today (now home safe and sound) and throughout the day I checked in with him.
I got to pottery a tad later than I have been, but still managed to get something done. I trimmed an item I made last week, cleaned up one or two things that are dry and ready to be bisqued (it's your last chance to smooth out any bumps on the surface), and then cleaned up my wheel and tools early.
With everything already cleaned up, I felt that I had time to decorate a vase. I did that while having a nice conversation with a person who was in the studio early for the next class. I did stay longer than I maybe should have, but no one else even arrived until 6:30.
It was nice to be in the studio mostly alone.
Then I went to Winner's, as one does, and found some sporty pants and a light jacket.
Then I got groceries. Once again, I was upset to see that the eggs I usually buy are mysteriously about a dollar more, for NO GOOD REASON. Canada has no shortage of eggs. It's just greed.
I feel like hiking food prices should simply be illegal. I am all for price controls on food.
As always, I am grateful to be able to buy groceries.
I had a nice chat with the person at the till. I often do. It brings a little connection to my day.
My husband was home by the time I arrived, and he helped me put away groceries. He had a piece of incredible carrot cake from his birthday party, and I had a bite.
Then he had to go to bed. He's going straight back to work tomorrow. I feel like he should have at least just taken the morning off.
