Apr. 22nd, 2025 11:54 pmToday I am grateful for:
Decent weather. Last night we had some near-freezing rain, not much but enough that the grass was crunchy. Today was a bit warmer.
Decent sleep. The world is a better place when it happens.
An okay conversation with Trainwreck. She did dominate the conversation, making it all about herself, but at least it wasn't too insane.
I had done a bunch of organizing last night in my upstairs closet room, putting things on hangers again and folding and making some culls. Not many culls, but a few. Mostly just tidying.
Today I went through my main wardrobe in our bedroom, putting away winter things and taking them upstairs, and just re-folding everything. I have a tendency to just jam things in there, and then you can't find anything.
I also found two items to be cut up for rags, and a few culls.
I did some laundry, as well as hand-washed a few wool items before putting them away for the summer.
By then my Sweetie was home from work. He walked with me while I did chores and he talked to his parents on the phone. His Mom, who has dementia (though still carries on good conversations and recognizes people) was having a bad day after all the socializing over the weekend. She was feeling down at no one being around today.
So my husband told her everything I was doing; grooming Ursula, feeding the animals, moving Dandy over to be with Wonder.
Then I went to see River.
He was in a decent mood, and found some energy after I worked at motivating him. He did well with everything, and once again did very well with me standing on him and tossing the umbrella and jacket.
After that, we went to the outdoor arena to practice the very lowest training level dressage test. I did have the bitless bridle on him, as well as the neck rope. I did need the bridle a bit, as he wasn't paying a lot of attention to my cues to turn out there. More distractions, I guess.
He did better after a while, but it needs work.
I came home and also worked with Wonder and Dandy in the big pasture, and today they were really full of spice and taking off and getting all worked up. They both came around eventually, but they made me work for it today.
Oh well. Good work out for me.
I came in, had supper with my Sweetie and we chatted, and he headed to bed.
