Apr. 26th, 2025 01:49 amToday I am grateful for:
Very nice weather today, though windy. Quite warm and sunny.
Good sleep.
I did vacuumed, put away the clean dishes, and rinsed out the indoor critter's water. Roxy comes in with her mouth packed with God Knows What and has a drink, and filths up the water dish. I'm sure it impresses the cats to no end.
I did chores, and then headed to the barn.
With the wind kicking up dust, poor River's breathing wasn't great today. He really tried for me, but I took it easy on him. Lots of breaks, no cantering.
I used barrels to represent "lamp posts" that I hope to incorporate into our freestyle as props, and I can see how they will improve it, adding context and structure.
Very good with the stand and toss.
The girl with health issues did have a lesson today, so I stayed and worked with a horse called Ferrari. He's a lot of fun as he has lots of energy, but listens well.
R was all excited about HER freestyle idea coming together. She wants to use Ferrari to do a "Knight Rider" theme. She got a leather jacket for it, and is looking at other ideas like a curly wig to fit over her helmet, and something for chest hair. I'm getting a kick out of how much fun she's having. Usually her freestyles are so serious.
I came home, and my Sweetie got home about the same time. I returned Dandy, and we came in and watched "Promising Young Woman". It was a really good movie, and an interesting way of framing the topic.
