Today I am grateful for:

Gorgeous weather today.

Making it to my doctor's appointment, again by the skin of my teeth even though I got up in good time and TRIED to get there. I don't know where the time goes, when I'm supposed to be somewhere.

The appointment is mostly about catching up on all the tests one should be doing regularly to have baselines, or to make sure things are okay.

I did have three months of a prescription to lower my stomach acidity, then I was supposed to go off of it for two months to see if it returned.

My doctor basically said to just let it run out, but when I looked online (because I was having some issues right after stopping) and you know, everything said I was supposed to TAPER OFF of it, so that I didn't have an acid rebound.

At this point, I don't know what the point is of putting me on a drug to reduce my stomach acid if all you're going to do is make a mistake like that and cause me to have an upset stomach for two weeks.

I'm feeling better now, but you know what? The feelings I had after going off the drug were not how I was feeling when I went into emergency, leading me to think that maybe I wasn't even having acid reflux? I don't know anymore.

All I know is that the long term use of Proton Pump Inhibitors sounds pretty awful, and I would reserve using those drugs as almost a last resort. You can take a LOT of antacids safely.

Anyhow, I'm not very excited about how all of that went.

Now there's a whole other laundry list of routine tests I'm supposed to catch up on, mainly because I am over 50 now.

The small city where I went for the appointment is sort of halfway home for my husband (from his job), so we met up after he got his hair cut.

While he was getting his hair cut, I went to the thrift store, and found a few things, particularly a gorgeous Marmot sweater.

When we met up, we went for a nice veggie burrito at the only decent "healthy" fast food burrito place I know of. I really love the ones at this place, because it is pretty healthy.

Then we went for a walk on some trails around the lake in town. There are lots of nice paved trails, but also some less official dirt trails meant for mountain bikes. I enjoyed walking on those more than the paved trails because they just feel more rustic.

It's fun when we can do things together during the week like this. It almost makes it feel like the weekend for me.

We came home, and I LOVE that it's still light out for so long now, because I still had lots of time to work with Dandy and Wonder in the big pasture and also move more manure from Wonder's corral to be spread on the big pasture.

We probably spent another hour outside after we came home.

Then we watched an episode of "Fringe" together.
